When Sylacauga gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris. Spring pollen coats rooflines, while acorns and sweetgum balls fall alongside fall leaves. Leaf drop usually peaks in early November, filling channels before winter. While freezing nights happen in Sylacauga, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, trapped water can still freeze in filled downspout elbows during cold snaps. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear pine needles and heavy hardwood leaves before downspouts block entirely.
