When Southside gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, send constant debris onto Southside roofs. Spring brings heavy pollen deposits and pine needles, while late October usually marks the peak leaf drop across Alabama. In winter, freezing nights happen, though snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Acorns, needles, and wet leaves easily clog roof channels before seasonal downpours strike. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear fresh roof buildup and ensure water leaves every downspout quickly without causing structural issues.
