When Port Wentworth gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop leaves and debris continuously throughout the year. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop heavy leaves and sweetgum balls into channels, while loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed sticky needles all year long. In spring, yellow pollen coated in dirt settles into downspouts, while annual live oak leaf drop adds heavy weight. Major leaf drop usually peaks in early November. Freezing nights are rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, but heavy rain stays constant. We recommend a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain water flow.
