When Pleasant gutters fill up
Trees common in this region, including broadleaf bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, hackberry, eastern red cedar, and ponderosa pine, drop material into gutters throughout the year. Spring brings light cottonwood fluff that forms dense mats inside the trough, followed by green ash seeds. Windstorms sweep prairie grit and dust onto the roof, while leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Winter brings freezing nights and likely snow, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Winter moisture can still freeze standing water inside clogged downspouts and split the metal seams. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect every roof.
