When Paducah gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf white oak, hickory, sweetgum, red maple, tulip poplar, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris into residential gutters. Spring brings thick layers of oak pollen and pine seeds that settle in channels, while leaf drop usually peaks in late October. In winter, freezing nights occur and snow is likely, though ice dams are not a typical issue for local rooflines. Water trapped by sweetgum leaves or pine needles can freeze inside downspouts during cold snaps, causing seam splits. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, once in spring and once in fall.
