When Muscle Shoals gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a continuous mix of organic matter onto local roofs. Broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and red maple drop heavy leaves, while conifers like loblolly pine and eastern red cedar drop sharp needles. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October, followed by spring pollen sticking inside wet channels. Freezing nights happen here, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, trapped water can still freeze in downspouts during sudden midwinter cold snaps. To prevent clogs and structural damage, we recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, keeping your system fully open.
