When Murray gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into Murray gutters throughout the changing seasons. Broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and red maple drop leaves, seeds, and acorns. Conifers like loblolly pine and eastern red cedar drop pine needles and spring pollen into gutter troughs. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October, sending heavy foliage onto roofs. Winter brings likely snow and freezing nights, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Cold weather turns standing water into heavy ice, straining metal fastings. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent seasonal blockages from clogging downspouts before severe weather arrives.
