When Monticello gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris over Monticello roofs. Spring pollen and falling seeds clutter drainage channels early in the year. By late October, leaf drop usually peaks across Kentucky, sending broad leaves and acorns into every open gutter. Winter brings freezing nights and likely snow, which turns remaining organic buildup into heavy, wet slush that strains metal fasteners. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep downspouts clear before winter cold sets in and before spring rains begin.
