When McCalla gutters fill up
Trees common in the region include broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and red maple, alongside conifers like loblolly pine and eastern red cedar. In spring, thick tree pollen and flower tassels blanket roofs and accumulate inside rain channels. Summer storms blow loose twigs into the channels, while leaf drop usually peaks in early November, packing gutters tight with heavy damp leaves. Although freezing nights happen occasionally during Alabama winters, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. Fine pine needles and heavy acorns quickly clog straight runs and elbows year-round. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
