When Mableton gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region include broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, southern magnolia, loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine. In Mableton, loblolly pine needles fall into gutters all year long. Spring brings heavy yellow pollen and live oak leaf drop, while fall brings broadleaf foliage and spiky sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen here, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, trapped water in a clogged gutter can still freeze overnight and stress loose fasteners. We recommend scheduling a thorough gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall.
