When Lyndon gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy material into roof troughs. Spring pollen coats every gutter interior, followed by dropped acorns and pine needles. Broadleaf leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling water channels right before winter arrives. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely across Kentucky, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Trapped wet leaves hold weight, freeze solid, and stress every mounting bracket. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain complete rainwater drainage.
