When Helena gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop material directly onto nearby roofs. Spring pollen and pine needles form thick mats in the channel early in the year, while acorns drop late in the summer. Leaf drop usually peaks in early November, clogging your roof channel right before winter storms arrive. Although snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue, freezing nights happen throughout winter. Standing water can freeze and stress fasteners. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
