When Hazard gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris into roof troughs. Spring brings heavy pollen and seed pods, while leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Pine needles and acorns easily jam downspouts before cold winter weather sets in. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Hazard, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Snowmelt must drain freely so water does not back up against your home. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your property year-round.
