When Glencoe gutters fill up
Trees common in the region include broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar. In Glencoe, heavy spring pollen glues fine debris together, while acorns drop late in the summer season. Pine needles fall steadily, while hardwood leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen here, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, trapped water can freeze and cause sagging or seam separation along the roof edge. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to keep downspouts clear and avoid seasonal downspout blockages.
