When Fort Rucker gutters fill up
Broadleaf trees like white oak, hickory, sweetgum, tulip poplar, and red maple are common in the region, dropping heavy leaves and acorns each fall. Conifers such as loblolly pine and eastern red cedar dump sticky pine needles and spring pollen into residential gutter systems year-round. Leaf drop usually peaks in early November, clogging channels right before winter. While freezing nights happen here, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, trapped water can still freeze inside packed debris and expand against your fascia. We recommend professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep every channel clear.
