When Daphne gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, shower local properties with heavy organic material. Spring pollen coats gutters, followed by sweetgum balls, acorns, and pine needles that build up alongside broad leaves during fall drops. Freezing nights are rare here, snow is rare, and ice dams do not form inside gutters, but frequent rain makes damp debris settle fast. We recommend scheduling a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, once in spring and once in fall. Regular service prevents dense pine needle pack from choking off each downspout during sudden downpours.
