When Dallas gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into drainage paths constantly. Loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop sharp pine needles all year long, while water oak, broadleaf live oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia lose leaves throughout the seasons. Spring brings thick yellow pollen along with sweetgum balls, while live oak leaf drop adds heavy debris. Fall leaf drop usually peaks in late October, dropping heavy materials into aluminum gutters. Freezing nights happen here, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect each gutter section before heavy seasonal rains arrive in Dallas.
