When Austell gutters fill up
Several local trees drop debris into gutters across Austell throughout the year. Regional conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop pine needles all year long. In spring, yellow pollen coats rooflines, while broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, and red maple drop leaves and sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen in Georgia, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. Because pine needles and seasonal broadleaves clog downspout openings rapidly, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep drainage paths clear.
