When Worcester gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop heavy waste into roof channels throughout the year. Broadleaf species like red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum release oak catkins in spring, followed by spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves later on. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling regional drainage networks before snow and freezing nights arrive. Conifers like eastern white pine also shed needles that bind loose leaves into thick clogs. Although ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, snow accumulation adds heavy weight to trapped debris. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your roofline.
