When Williamsport gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, constantly shed material onto Williamsport rooflines. Oak catkins drop during spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broadleaf foliage fall later. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling regional gutter channels quickly. Freezing nights happen throughout local winters, making ice dams in gutters a real winter problem when snow is likely to accumulate over trapped debris. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect every Williamsport home from severe freeze expansion, blocked downspout channels, and heavy seasonal overflow.
