When Williamsburg gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, southern magnolia, loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine, release heavy loads near homes. Pine needles fall all year long, while spring brings thick yellow pollen alongside live oak leaf drop. Late October usually brings peak fall leaf drop, filling channels with red maple foliage, sweetgum balls, and acorns. Freezing nights happen here, making trapped water expand in late fall and winter, although snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect Williamsburg properties.
