When Westampton gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop varied debris throughout the year. In spring, oak catkins fall onto the roof and clog the gutter outlet. By mid October, leaf drop usually peaks across Westampton, coating roof valleys with heavy leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. Freezing nights happen here, and snow is likely during New Jersey winters, making packed, wet debris freeze into solid blockages inside the downspout system. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall. Keeping channels open before winter prevents snowpack from pressing against blocked gutter walls.
