When West Point gutters fill up
Our region features broadleaf trees like white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and red maple, along with conifers like loblolly pine and eastern red cedar. In spring, heavy pollen and dropped sweetgum balls line your roof channels. By early November, leaf drop usually peaks, dumping dense white oak foliage and red maple leaves onto the roof. Conifer pine needles drop year-round, binding with wet leaves to form thick debris plugs. While freezing nights happen here, ice dams are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to clear local foliage before clogged gutters overflow.
