When Warwick gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy debris into roof channels. Oak catkins fall in spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and fallen leaves fill the channels later in the year. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, right before cold weather brings freezing nights and snow. Though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, packed debris holds snowmelt and blocks downspout drainage. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to maintain clear drainage channels year-round.
