When Verona gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop debris into local gutters. Spring brings oak catkins that clump together, while fall delivers heavy fallen leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling the gutter channel right before cold weather arrives. Verona experiences freezing nights and snow, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Still, trapped water can freeze and push sagging gutters away from the fascia. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear downspouts and protect your roof.
