When Veneta gutters fill up
Managing water flow requires staying ahead of changing weather and falling plant matter. Leaves, needles, and seeds from nearby trees collect in gutters throughout the year, restricting drainage paths along the roofline. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling wide metal channels just as heavy seasonal rainfall returns to Oregon. Freezing nights happen during winter, but ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. To prevent water from backing up against the roof edge during damp winter months, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall. Spring visits clear out fallen spring seeds, while fall visits clear heavy leaves.
