When Uxbridge gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop heavy materials into roof troughs throughout the changing seasons. Broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, and northern red oak shed a heavy carpet of fallen leaves, while eastern white pine and eastern hemlock drop sharp pine needles and small cones. Spring brings maple seed wings, followed by fall leaves and acorns. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October. Freezing nights happen, creating ice dams in gutters that block winter snow melt and cause ice dams in gutters. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
