When Upper Dublin gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a steady stream of debris into gutters throughout the year. Red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine trees shed oak catkins in spring, followed by acorns, broad leaves, and spiky sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, packing rainwater pathways right before winter arrives. Freezing nights and snow are likely in Upper Dublin, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Snowmelt must drain freely through clear channels and downspouts without freezing solid inside blocked passages. We recommend professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall.
