When Troy gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, deposit significant drop into local gutters. Spring bring heavy drop of maple seed wings, while fall releases a thick drop of broadleaf foliage and acorns, usually peaking in mid October. Cold weather brings freezing nights where snow is likely, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Trapped snow over heavy debris blocks the gutter trough during early thaws, causing overflow. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep systems clear before winter freezes and spring rains reach Illinois.
