When Tichigan gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy materials onto local roofs. Spring brings maple seed wings and pollen, while fallen leaves, acorns, and pine needles build up fast during fall. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October across Tichigan. Winter brings freezing nights, heavy snow, and a real risk of ice dams in gutters when full channels trap standing water. We recommend residential gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to keep water flowing freely before freezing weather hits Wisconsin.
