When Tehachapi gutters fill up
Managing residential roof runoff in Tehachapi depends heavily on local weather and foliage cycles. Leaves, needles, and seeds from nearby trees collect in gutters throughout the year, with leaf drop usually peaking in late October. Although freezing nights happen in this mountain region, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. However, standing water inside a clogged gutter can freeze solid during winter nights, straining heavy aluminum gutter channels and fascia fasteners. We recommend scheduling a gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels completely empty before seasonal rainfall hits California.
