When Swannanoa gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris onto roofs throughout every season in Swannanoa, North Carolina. Conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed pine needles into gutter systems all year. In spring, yellow pollen coats roof surfaces, while sweetgum balls, acorns, and live oak leaf drops accumulate. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia shed leaves heavily, with leaf drop usually peaking in late October. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in winter, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear seasonal blockages.
