When Sutton gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, drop heavy matter into local gutters year-round. Maple seed wings fall every spring, pine needles drop continuously, and acorns shower down alongside a heavy carpet of leaves that usually peaks in early October. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and ice dams in gutters are real winter hazards across Massachusetts. Water trapped behind leaf blockages freezes, expanding to pull gutter structures directly off the fascia. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear seasonal debris before severe weather arrives.
