When Stow gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, such as sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, northern red oak, eastern white pine, and eastern hemlock, deposit significant debris into gutter channels. In spring, maple seed wings fill drainage troughs, while late summer brings heavy drops of oak acorns. Fall leaf drop usually peaks in early October, coating roof lines in thick foliage. In winter, freezing nights bring heavy snow and ice dams that create severe blockages. Frozen water expansion bends metal channels and tears brackets from fascia structures. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect residential rooflines from seasonal weather damage.
