When Sterling gutters fill up
Trees common in the region include broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce. In spring, maple seed wings fill open gutter channels. By mid fall, fallen leaves, acorns, and pine needles build up fast. Freezing nights happen throughout winter, and ice dams in gutters are a real winter problem when snow is likely. Ice expands inside clogged system sections, twisting metal and pull channels off fascia boards. We recommend cleaning your system at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep seasonal debris from trapping water along the edges of your roof.
