When Speedway gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy materials onto local roofs. Maple seed wings fall in spring, while acorns, leaves, and pine needles accumulate later in the year, with leaf drop usually peaking in mid October. Freezing nights are standard during Indiana winters, making ice dams in gutters a real threat when trapped water freezes solid. The expanding ice forces seams apart and damages the roof edge. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your Speedway property before summer downpours and winter freezes cause severe trouble.
