When South Haven gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop broad leaves, seed pods, acorns, and pine needles directly onto South Haven homes. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling upper channels just before winter weather sets in. Freezing nights happen regularly here, snow is likely, and ice dams in gutters are a real winter problem when trapped water freezes along the roofline. Pine needles and crushed oak leaves create dense mats that block water flow into downspouts during cold rain. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your property year-round.
