When Soddy-Daisy gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris over local roofs. Spring pollen packs into the gutter channel, while fall leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Pine needles create dense mats that plug the top of each downspout. Winter brings freezing nights, though snow is rare and ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear out leaves, acorns, and needle buildup before heavy seasonal rain causes water overflow.
