When Slaton gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into Slaton gutters throughout different months of the year. Broadleaf live oak leaves fall during spring rather than fall, while oak catkins and pecan shells collect on the roof later in the season. Cedar elm, crape myrtle, post oak, loblolly pine, and ashe juniper also add regional debris, with juniper pollen coating roof surfaces in winter. General leaf drop usually peaks in early November. Freezing nights happen in Texas winters, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear drainage channels.
