When Shiloh gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop a variety of heavy material throughout the year. Spring brings oak catkins that clump inside every gutter, while fall brings broad leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October across Pennsylvania. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Shiloh, so trapped moisture in a clogged gutter can turn into heavy frozen debris that weighs down fascia boards, even though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep channels clear.
