When Shelby gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop heavy material throughout the year. Loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed thin pine needles constantly, while yellow pollen covers surfaces every spring. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves that fill gutter troughs. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Although snow is rare in Shelby, freezing nights happen, turning standing water into solid ice that strains loose hangers. To protect your property, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
