Drainage Issues and Outlet Blockages
Water issues often stem from different points along the drainage line. An outlet blockage typically occurs when leaves or silt collect directly over the drop outlet, causing water to back up and spill over the immediate end of the channel. In contrast, overflow along an entire gutter run usually indicates a long trough filled with heavy debris or an improper slope where standing water cannot travel toward the downspout.
