When San Jose gutters fill up
The local climate features rare freezing nights, so ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare in San Jose. However, local trees are largely evergreen and shed leaves, needles, and seed pods year-round onto every roof in California. Rain concentrated in the late fall, winter, and early spring can quickly flush this settled material straight into downspout openings. Debris builds up continuously through dry periods, forming dense blockages that trap stagnant water during the rainy months. To maintain open channels and protect fascia boards from rot, we recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, keeping downspouts clear through every season.
