When Salisbury gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, constantly shed debris toward roof surfaces. In spring, oak catkins drop directly into channels, while fall leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, dropping acorns and spiky sweetgum balls. Freezing nights happen throughout Salisbury winters, and while ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, snow is likely to weigh down full channels. We recommend clearing your gutter system at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep drainage paths wide open before cold weather sets in across Pennsylvania.
