When Salem gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, drop heavy material across local properties. In spring, maple seed wings fill open channels, while fall brings heavy leaves and acorns, with leaf drop usually peaking in early October. Conifers add pine needles that pack tightly inside downspouts. Winter brings freezing nights, snow, and the risk of ice dams when blocked gutters keep melting snow from draining. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your property before severe cold sets in and to clear spring organic matter.
