When Rossville gutters fill up
Trees common across this region drop various materials throughout the year. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop heavy leaves and sweetgum balls, while loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop pine needles all year long. Yellow pollen arrives in spring, live oak leaf drop follows, and sweetgum balls with acorns fall in late summer. Fall leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. While freezing nights happen in Maryland, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear stubborn pine needles and heavy fall leaves.
