When Roselle Park gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris throughout the active seasons. In spring, white oak catkins land on the roof, while broadleaf red maple, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum shed fallen leaves, acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls later in the year. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling roof gutters quickly. During New Jersey winters, freezing nights happen and snow is likely, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Snowmelt must drain freely through downspouts to prevent ice weight from pulling metal channels away from the fascia. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to keep channels flowing freely through every season.
