When Robeson gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a steady stream of debris into local gutters throughout the year. Spring brings oak catkins from white oak trees, while broadleaf red maple, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum shed heavily. In fall, spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and fallen leaves fill up open gutter channels, with leaf drop usually peaking in mid October. Winter brings freezing nights and likely snow, which causes standing water inside blocked gutters to freeze solid and push against your roofline. To protect your roof, we recommend a complete gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to keep water moving freely before freezing temperatures set in.
