Debris Buildup and Drainage Conditions
Water issues along the roof edge generally stem from accumulated organic matter, settling sediment, or direct blockages at the downspout entry point. When organic debris settles in the channel, it slows the progress of runoff and creates heavy standing water that strains fasteners. In other cases, a compact plug right at the downspout opening stops flow entirely, causing localized spilling even when the rest of the channel remains relatively clear.
