When Ramsey gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region, including broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy material onto property rooflines. Oak catkins fall in spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and broad leaves fill channels later in the year. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October across Ramsey. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely during New Jersey winters, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue here. Winter precipitation still pushes heavy weight against clogged gutters. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep water flowing away from roof edges and prevent structural gutter damage before winter cold arrives.
